Elite Training Blocks

Three days. Twelve players.

Real development that lasts beyond the holidays.

The Thrive Elite Training Blocks take place during School Holidays... it's not a camp. It's a focused, skills-based training block that works on the player and the person, because that's what actually makes the difference.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

What it is...

This is a three-day holiday Elite training block for serious cricketers who want more than hitting balls in the nets. Over twelve hours of coaching across Monday to Wednesday, players work across every key skill area, batting, bowling, fielding, throwing, and S&C, alongside three Performance Life sessions that tackle confidence, communication, and self-belief.

Small group. High reps. Genuine development.

What you'll work on

Cricket skills:

Every session is deliberate, technical, and coached at a high standard by Matt Bell.

  • Fielding: catching, diving, and rolling under pressure

  • Throwing: mechanics, arm speed, accuracy, and injury prevention

  • Bowling: seam position, line and length discipline, skill progression

  • Batting: power hitting for T20 and Innovation 360 (ramp, scoop, switch hit)

  • Tactics and strategy: reading the game, decision-making, Cricket IQ

  • S&C and fitness: athletic preparation and cricket-specific conditioning

Performance Life sessions:

Delivered by Ellie Bell (ICF accredited Performance Life Coach). Not fluff. Not a lecture. Real conversations about the mental and personal side of the game.

  • Session 1: Confidence: where it comes from, how to build it, and what it looks like on the field

  • Session 2: Communication: your on-field voice, body language, and how to talk to coaches

  • Session 3: Self-belief: the inner critic, identity vs performance, and what you tell yourself when it's hard.

This isn't your typical holiday camp

Most holiday cricket programmes give you more of the same, technical drills with limited coaching attention and no real development context.

The Thrive in Cricket Holiday Squad Programme is different because:

Small group of twelve means every player gets real attention and quality reps

Technical cricket coaching and Performance Life coaching in the same programme

Delivered by Matt and Ellie Bell, the same coaches behind Canterbury's leading holistic cricket programme.

Players leave with skills, tools, and self-awareness they can use straight away.

We build better cricketers by building better people. Matt & Ellie Bell

Who this is for

This programme is designed for motivated players who are ready to work hard and grow. We accept a minimum standard of player — not to be exclusive, but to protect the quality of the environment for everyone in the room.

This is right for your player if they:

  • Are playing at club level or above (school 1st/2nd XI standard or equivalent)

  • Want to work on both their cricket and their mindset

  • Are ready to be coached, challenged, and stretched

  • Are aged 14–18

This isn't the right fit if your player is just looking for a fun hit-around. That's fine, but this programme is built for players who want to develop.
